About the winemaker

"Together with my best friend Antonio, we started AB Valley Wines in 2016. The A stands for Antonio, the B for my name: Bernardo. After years of experience at different wineries, it was finally time for our own project. Our goal is to shake up the rest of the wine world with genuine Portuguese terroir wines, reflecting the rugged and fresh character of the Vinho Verde region."

Vinho verde, Portugal
Loureiro is a native Portuguese grape variety, remotely reminiscent of a young Riesling. Like Riesling, it thrives in regions with cool climates. Thus, it retains its fresh citrus aromas. The Alvarinho (albariño in Spanish) also feels completely at home in the rainy Vinho Verde region. It is almost impossible to think of a better name for this cool, green region in northern Portugal. Indeed, the Vinho Verdes (green, or better; young wines) from the wine region of the same name, reflect the microclimate and cool influences of the Atlantic Ocean like no other.
