Jean Dumangin Champagne Hommage
Champagne, France
Chardonnay
Winemaker Laurent wanted to honour his father and decided to make a wine from his finest grapes. This wine matures for no less than four years before it is allowed to leave the cellar. With this rich, complex Champage as a result, we cannot imagine a more beautiful tribute.

About the winemaker
“Making champagne is a team effort. There are so many different aspects to consider. We work together, along with the family. That's why it's also nice to blow off steam from time to time. I often do that with my son in our rehearsal space. He plays the guitar, and I let loose on the drums. Fortunately, our neighbors live far away...”

Champagne, France
The wines from Dumangin come from Chigny-les-Roses, a village located ten kilometers south of Reims, the capital of Champagne. Most Champagnes are made from a blend of three grape varieties: chardonnay, pinot noir, and pinot meunier. Chardonnay is a white variety, while the other two are red varieties. When champagne is made exclusively from chardonnay, like this one, it's called blanc de blancs. Chardonnay imparts a creamy, elegant, and floral character to champagne, and this wine is a fine example of that. It is made from two consecutive vintages to ensure consistent quality.
