About the winemaker
"Our wine a real hybrid wine. It not only goes incredibly well as aperitief, but also does well as a gourmet wine. Half of our garganega grapes are aged for 6 months in oak, the other half in stainless steel. Then the equal parts are blended resulting in a pale yellow wine with a green sparkle that gains complexity and depth through the oak aging."

One of Italy's best-known white wines is Soave. The area lies east of Verona and Lake Garda. This Vicario comes from vineyards located on the volcanic hills of the municipality of Monteforte d'Alpone. Monteforte d'Alpone belongs to the D.O.C. Soave Classico, the historically original production zone. The garganega is the grape with which Soave is most associated, in both favourable and unfavourable ways. The grape gives potentially huge yields, creating the danger of boring and thin wine. However, good garganega, and therefore good Soave, is a treat.
