About the winemaker
"Our winery is located in a historic country house next to a fifteenth-century chapel. My father and grandfather sold their wine mainly locally, straight from the barrel. I saw how much potential our old pergola vineyards had and decided to focus on making top-quality Bardolinos."

Veneto, Italy
On the east coast of Lake Garda lies the small town of Bardolino, 25 km from Verona. It is not busy in winter, as it has only 7,000 inhabitants. However, like the rest of the surrounding area, it is touristy. Nevertheless, wine has been produced here for centuries. Remains of viticulture dating back to the Bronze Age, approximately 3,000 to 800 BC, have been found here. Real cultivation only began in the Middle Ages by monks. They primarily use the same grape varieties here as in the rest of the Veneto region: Corvina, Rondinella, and Molinara. The style here is truly different, though; due to the microclimate on the east coast and the soil, the style of the wines here is lighter. The name for this style was established with the adoption of the D.O.C. in 1968. The Italians themselves view the wine as the ideal table wine, to be enjoyed leisurely throughout the evening.
