It has had the same name for generations, since my grandfather and my father, like me, are also called Gerhard. It won't surprise you that the youngest member of our family is also called Gerhard and is already eager to take over the family estate."

Kamptal, Austria
Wine has been produced in the Kamptal region of Austria for centuries. Not very surprising, as the valley lies west and east of the Kamp river and has ideal conditions for growing grapes. The grüner veltliner is therefore most commonly planted here. Outside Austria, it is hardly found, only occasionally in the Czech Republic and Hungary. This grape produces wines that are dry, spicy and fresh with a characteristic slight pepper tone. As often with unknown grape varieties, it is good sommeliers who make a wine known to a wider audience. With grüner veltliner, this is actually quite logical due to its wide culinary applicability.
