About the winemaker

“My family has been making Prosecco for generations, so it's not surprising that I ended up in the wine world. But I have more interests than just wine. In addition to my work as a winemaker, I also serve as the chairman of Fondazione del Teatro Stabile di Torino. By combining these two roles, I continue to stimulate my creativity and gain new insights.”

For a long time, the barbera grape lived in the shadow of nebbiolo and barbaresco, from which famous wines like Barolo are made. Fortunately, winemakers have discovered that when barbera is treated with care and yields are kept low, it produces very nice, soft, fruity wines with aromas of cherries, blackberries, licorice, and a touch of pepper. Because it contains less tannin than nebbiolo, it's more approachable than barolo. Moreover, its good acidity makes barbera a great match for the sometimes heavy Northern Italian cuisine, making it easier to digest. So, be sure to try this wine with a rich pasta or spicy salami.
