Ciliegiolo
Ciliegiolo doesn´t only sounds special, this rosé is special! But unknown certainly does not mean unloved here. The grape is one of the parents of sangiovese. This exciting, complex rosé is not only delicious over drinks, but even better with dinner

Umbrië, Italy
Umbria likely conjures up images of authentic, unspoiled Italy for many. Think of ancient cities like Perugia and Assisi, surrounded by a green, hilly landscape. It's the only wine region in Italy that doesn't border the sea or a land boundary. The region somewhat lives in the shadow of its neighboring areas, Tuscany and Lazio. However, the history of winemaking in Umbria dates back thousands of years, with the Etruscans planting the first vines. Ciliegiolo is one of the oldest grape varieties from this region. DNA research has shown it to be one of the parents of the world-famous sangiovese grape. The name Ciliegiolo means "small cherry," which actually hints at some of its aromas. Due to low acidity and a lack of tannins, this grape variety is less suitable for aging in oak, which led to its declining popularity. However, in the hands of talented winemakers like Leonardo, it can produce very seductive wines.
