Lissabon, Portugal
Field blend
Palhete is Portuguese through and through. It is a traditional field blend of red and white grapes. With this, winegrower Vasco makes a light red wine, full of juicy ripe cherries that tastes best when slightly chilled.

About the winemaker

“We have been making field blends in Portugal for centuries. To do this, we harvest all the grapes from a vineyard at the same time and ferment them together. Sometimes these are grapes of the same color, but sometimes also the white and red together. In this way I make a style of wine that can best be compared to the trendy French Clarete.”

Vasco martins

Lissabon, Portugal
Most people know Lisbon as the ideal location for city trips or holidays, but Lisbon is much more than that! For example, the wine region around Lisbon is also called the bread basket of Portugal, because the soil is very fertile and many other crops such as grain and fruit are grown in addition to grapes. The vineyards are located on soils of lime, clay and sandstone and the sun can shine mercilessly. The perfect conditions for warm, ripe wines with soft tannins and a warm character. This makes it perhaps one of the most dynamic and varied wine regions in Portugal. This produces concentrated, strong red wines, but also white wines that take years to 'drink'. In general it can be assumed that the best vineyards in this area are located north and west of the capital, along the Atlantic coast.

Dit is denk ik de makkelijkste wijn die ik heb gedronken. Licht en fruitig. Lekker voor dat je gaat eten, tijdens het eten en makkelijk aan te bieden.
