About the winemaker

“I bought a small estate in 2010 with 60 hectares of old, indigenous vines in Alentejo. We renovated the estate into a modern winery and soon people were enthusiastic about our wines. When a friend asked me to come and help her make wines in the famous Douro Valley, I didn't hesitate for a second and got started. Now I divide my time between the southern Alentejo and the country's most famous wine region. ”

Douro, Portugal
Everyone knows the Douro region for its famous port wines. Yet this region is much more than that. Portugal has more than 250 indigenous grape varieties. Due to its remote location in southwestern Europe and the focus on grain production during the military dictatorship of the last century, the Portuguese did not care about internationally successful grapes. It is a joy to discover all the Portuguese grape varieties!
