About the winemaker
Although the Douro Valley is one of the world’s most historic wine regions, we found it difficult to find a partner that truly matched what we were looking for. That changed when we discovered Quinta da Pedra. Their small-scale approach and modern vision immediately felt like the perfect fit. Their wines are unmistakably Douro, yet offer exactly the kind of drinkability we were searching for. Since 2021, they have become an essential part of our portfolio.

Douro, Portugal
The Douro is one of the world’s most impressive wine regions, located in northern Portugal about 100 kilometers from Porto. In this rugged, mountainous landscape, the steep slate slopes force the vines to root deeply in search of water and nutrients.
The strength of the region lies in its traditional blends. Touriga Nacional often forms the backbone, providing deep color and structure, while Touriga Franca contributes refined aromas and floral notes. Tinta Barroca adds ripe, generous fruit, and the rarer Tinto Cão brings freshness, acidity, and aging potential.
The unique combination of these grape varieties and the region’s extreme climate results in wines of remarkable concentration and a mineral tension that is unmatched anywhere else in the world.
