Rinaldi Eramare Barbera
Millions of years ago, winemaker Andrea's vineyards were still sea, but now Barbera and Bonarda grapes grow here. Thanks to a partially carbonated fermentation, his Rosso is lively, full of juicy forest fruit, and softly spicy. Best enjoyed slightly chilled!

About the winemaker
My family has been working the vineyards in our native Piedmont for generations. Although I took over from my father, he's an integral part of the winery. Here we make classic Nebbiolos, Barberas, Moscato d'Asti, Cortese, and of course, Bonarda. By that, we mean the true Bonarda, the Bonarda Piemontese, as several other grape varieties claim this name. But you rarely find true Bonarda these days. The small bunches and the resulting low yield make it commercially uninteresting. It's a shame, because these small grapes are bursting with flavor!

Piemonte, Italy
Nestled among the rolling hills of Piedmont, just east of Barolo and Barbaresco, lies the unique Monferrato. This wine region may be less famous, but it's certainly no less special. While Barolo focuses on Nebbiolo, Monferrato revolves around the Barbera grape. This grape thrives in the clay and chalky soils here, allowing it to express its fruitiest and most expressive side. It's no wonder the region is working hard to enhance its reputation with the arrival of a top appellation, Nizza. And then there's the Bonarda grape. Less well-known, but indispensable in Monferrato. This local star lends a more rustic, earthy character to the blend, creating the perfect balance.
