Schieber Kekfrankos
Szekszárd, Hungary
Kékfrankos
Kekfrankos is often used in blends in Bikaver. At Schieber, however, they give it a special place in the spotlight. Young winemaker Joseph crafts a juicy yet elegant wine from it. Full of dark fruit, fresh acidity, and a pleasantly peppery finish.

About the winemaker
In the historical wine region of Szekszárd, Schieber is one of the youngest wineries. In recent years, we have spent renovating the wine cellar, replanting the vineyards and switching to organic viticulture. In this way, we want to show that fantastic wines can still be made in this old region."

Szekszárd, Hungary
This historic wine region of Szekszárd, in the south of Hungary, is an hour and a half drive from Budapest. The rolling landscape full of vineyards offers views of the famous Danube River and the dramatic Alföld Plain. Wine growing here goes back, how could it be otherwise, to Roman times. For example, a marble sarcophagus from the 1st century was found in this region, which is already richly decorated with images of wine growing. Even during the Ottoman rule in the 16th century, wine was allowed to be grown here. Unique because the Ottomans were Islamic.
