About the winemaker

When I launched my first wine, several South African wine journalists refused to review it. They considered wine without pesticides, herbicides, or additives shocking and impossible. Ironically, we strive for purity and precision in our wines; nothing shocking about it.

94/100 James Suckling
"The skin contact influence is obvious on the nose and palate. Aromas of kumquats, apricots, honeysuckle, beeswax and a steely undertone follow through to a full-bodied palate. Fine tannins with zesty lemon flavors and a long, pristine finish. 14 days of maceration"

Swartland, South africa
If you ever fly to South Africa, you'll face a long journey from Cape Town to the far north of Swartland. Beyond Malmesbury (the region's wine-growing hub), you'll find Bandits Kloof: a rugged corner of South Africa, just 135 hectares in size. Not exactly a place you immediately think of when you think of South African wine, so far removed from mass production and tourism. The region is rugged, raw, and untamed. The landscape is dominated by vast wheat fields, blossoming orchards, and vineyards, dotted with islands of wilderness and picturesque farming villages. Thanks to the abundant sunshine combined with a fresh sea breeze, this small region has managed to develop into one of South Africa's leading regions.
