“After working together for nearly fifteen years at Bodega Catena Zapata, we felt it was time to venture out on our own. Our goal is to make wines, mainly Malbec, that reflect the heart and soul of the Mendoza wine region. Attention to terroir is our top priority: we have vineyards at various altitudes and with different soils. We take pride in our Limestone Block: the slate subsoil and the high altitude of the vineyard give the wine its unique, elegant, and powerful character."

Goede cool-climate- malbec. Niet te nadrukkelijk op de borst timmerend. Geen Bokito-gedrag. Subtiel en toch stevig. Fris, donker fruit. Zwarte bessen, Andeskruiden-parfum, de koelte ingewaaid." Mendoza, Uco valley, Argentina
Mendoza is by far the most important wine region in Argentina. The viticulture here is extreme: vineyards are located at altitudes ranging from 650 to 3000 meters, the climate is very dry, and the soil is poor. The high altitude of the vineyards results in significant temperature drops at night, allowing the grapes to ripen evenly, which is beneficial for the wine's flavor. In addition to the Argentine pride, malbec, originally a French grape, this wine also includes 10-12% cabernet franc for added complexity. The wine is aged for 9 months in French oak barrels.

Wrang, erg wrang. Ik houd er wel van! (dat rijmt bijna) Niet super fruitig, maar gewoon bombastisch en wrang. Ik drink graag een Malbec. Of ik deze het lekkerste vond? Nee. Zou ik 'm opnieuw kopen? Misschien als ik Malbec nog niet kende en ontdekte dat ik dat wrange erg lekker vond. Anders? Nee. Ik dronk na deze een andere Malbec en iedereen gaf eigenlijk gelijk aan die lekkerder te vinden.. Maar, malbec blijft gewoon erg goed!
