About the winemaker

“As the winemaker of Cantina Frentana, my responsibility goes beyond making wine; it includes preserving history and tradition. This historical perspective is reflected in our choice of grape varieties, all of which are native to the region, such as pecorino, montepulciano, cococciola, and passerina. These grape varieties have adapted to the climate over centuries and thrive in the vineyards of central Italy.”

"Verwar ’m niet met Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. Die wordt van sangiovese gemaakt. Montepulciano heeft de montepulcianodruif tot zijn beschikking. En die trakteert de drinker in dit geval op pruimig rood met wat bittere kersen, bolle bramen, rijpe tannines en fijne zuren."

Abruzzen, Italy
Abruzzo is an Italian wine region located in the central part of the country. This hilly and rugged area stretches from the Apennines to the rocky coastline of the Adriatic Sea. Some mountain peaks reach as high as 2000 meters, and the vineyards are also situated at relatively high altitudes. The combination of cool mountain air and warm air currents from the Adriatic Sea provides excellent conditions for growing montepulciano grapes. Do not confuse these grapes with Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, which is a wine named after a town in Tuscany and made from the sangiovese grape. Montepulciano is a grape variety that produces wines with a fleshy, powerful structure and soft tannins.

Paars-rood. Volop kersen. Erg sappig. Vanille, hout en chocola. Redelijk zachte tannines. Medium afdronk. Lekker wijntje.
