About the winemaker

“In 2007, my friends Bozidar Grabovac, Rajko Zlikar and I founded Verus Venogradi. We knew each other from work at Jerusalem Ormoz, one of the most famous wineries in Slovenia. After that we decided to start for ourselves. All three of us come from families where wine has been made for generations and it is great that we can now continue this tradition. Our goal is to make wines that bring out the best of the different grape varieties we use and that reflect the terroir of our wine region."

"Smells salty. Šipon’s green florals and zizzing green acidity. Lime candy and cardamom. Apples and honeydew melon. This is fun. Not the most complex Furmint ever, but incredibly accessible and would be a brilliant introduction to the variety because it's instantly likeable but also has typicity."

With its mountainous landscape, continental climate and interesting soils, Slovenia has a lot of potential for viticulture. The grape furmint feels very much at home here. Originally a Hungarian grape, it makes both sweet and dry wines. The dry furmint wines have higher acidity, giving them storage potential. The wines are complex and refined and, apart from fruit notes, can also have something spicy and smoky.

Speciaal! De Furmint ofwel Sipondruif is kruidig, droog, florale neus en een klein bitterje. Ik proef, voel een tinteling.. Kortom genieten van dit kleine huis uit oude streek..

Bijzondere wijn, erg fruitig (veel perzik) en mineralig. De volle structuur en de frisheid van de Furmint maken deze een waanzinnige Sloveense wijn een aanrader!!!!
