About the winemaker

It was my grandfather who decided to grow grapes instead of sugar beets. My father expanded the business with a clear vision: “Less is more.” He firmly believed that top-quality grapes need little help to make good wines. Now that I'm at the helm as the third generation, I'm fully committed to continuing his approach.

The Neusiedlersee wine region is located in Burgenland, as the name suggests, near the idyllic Neusiedlersee lake. It is one of the most important parts of the Burgenland wine region. The famous wine village of Gols is also located here. Thanks to the long growing season with dry summers and cold winters, the vines thrive in a favorable climate. The high humidity creates ideal conditions for the noble rot necessary for the production of dessert wines. However, the majority of the vineyards are planted with the red Zweigelt grape, which produces very fruity wines. With over 300 sunny days a year, the climate is also ideal for Pinot Blanc, for example, which produces surprisingly fruity and refined wines.
