About the winemaker

"In addition to colleagues and winemakers, we are above all sisters and friends. Together with our winemaker friends, we make wines in various classic Spanish wine regions such as the Rioja, Rías Baixas, Rueda and Alicante. Without losing sight of the history and traditions of the thousands of years old wine culture in the Mediterranean, we are determined to produce a modern style of wines, fresh, elegant and with detailed precision."

Wat maakt de wijn van Ruth en Ana beter?
"The Andrés sisters are not only active in the D.O. Alicante, but also have projects in other Spanish wine regions. Wherever they find themselves they always have exactly the same mission. They use indigenous grapes for the region and try to reflect the terroir as well as possible in their wines."

Alicante, Spain
Alicante is not very well known as a wine region. This area in the southeast of Spain is best known for tourism on the Costa Blanca, but inland it has a rich wine tradition that even dates back to the time of the Phoenicians. Today there are many indigenous grapes in the vineyards. The Merseguera grape is one of the local varieties. It feels perfectly at home in this warm climate and with its thick skin it is well armed against the heat of the sun. The wines of this variety are soft, light and fresh, often with some apple and lime aromas.

Mondgevoel is lekker vettig. Voor deze prijs is het echt genieten geblazen.
