Belsasso Pinot Grigio

Abruzzen, Italy
Pinot grigio
Belsasso means something like beautiful mountains, and no word of that is a lie. The landscape in Abruzzo is beautiful. With its fresh flavours of citrus, blossom and soft minerals, the wine not only sounds like a treat, it is.

About the winemaker

"If you like Italian food and drink, chances are you have already drunk a wine from Abruzzo. The region is famous for its wines, not only from local grapes, but also pinot grigio. Personally, I am convinced that a good glass of wine affects your mood, which is why I always have a bottle of Belsasso cold."

★
Pinot Grigio
"The grape pinot grigio has many names. For example, the grapes pinot gris, malvoisie, grauburgunder, ruländer, szürkebarát, tokay d'alsace (a name that appears only on very old bottles) and grauer burgunder are all the same grape variety."

Belsasso. Vrij vertaald: mooie bergen. Rijpe, ronde, goed gevulde, dito geluimde pinot grigio. Rijpe peer, frisse appel, kokette citrus.

Abruzzen, Italy
Abruzzo is an Italian wine region in the central part of the country. This hilly and rugged region stretches from the Apennines to the rocky coastline of the Adriatic Sea. The combination of the cool mountain air with the warm air currents of the Adriatic provide excellent viticultural conditions. Unsurprisingly, wine has been grown here for centuries, often from local grapes. The Terre di Chieti sub-region only got its own status in 1995. Here, the climate is very suitable for growing pinot grigio, but the more international chardonnay and cabernet sauvignon also do well here.
