About the winemaker

At Bibo Runge, we make "wines of the future." This isn't just alcohol-free, of course; we also make wines with alcohol. However, making delicious alcohol-free wine is a much bigger challenge. Although we don't have organic certification, we actually work more than organic, aiming to be climate-neutral. This means all production is manual. Even the pressing is done by hand. For example, our winery's annual CO2 emissions are equivalent to a round-trip ticket to New York.

Rheingau, Germany
Rheingau is one of Germany's most famous wine regions, but relatively small in size. The steep slopes along the Rhine River provide the vineyards with the perfect location to capture as much sun as possible. Rheingau is also home to the world's oldest Riesling vineyard. In addition to this white grape variety, Pinot Noir, locally known as Spätburgunder, is also planted. This grape variety became world-famous in Burgundy, France, and is also used to produce world-class wines in Germany.
