About the winemaker
In 1952, four winegrowers in the village of Rochefort-du-Gard faced a dilemma. They were harvesting high-quality grapes in the sunny southern Rhône, but none of them could earn enough to cover the costs of a wine cellar. Once they started talking, they quickly arrived at a solution: collaboration. Together, they could cover the costs. This proved to be the prelude to Vignerons du Castelas.

Rhone, France
The Gard is a unique Mediterranean region of France. It's a transitional area in southern French winemaking, marking the border between Provence, Languedoc, and the Rhône Valley vineyards. This allows for a wide variety of microclimates and soil types to be discovered. It's not only ideal for wine growing, but also for holidays! The vineyards for this wine are all located in the southern Rhône.
