Dos Por Tres Seleccion de Barrica Verdejo
Verdejo
The Fernandez brothers give the Verdejo grape a gastronomic upgrade. Aging it in wood creates a rich, creamy wine, full of tropical fruit, that would not look out of place on the finest wine lists.

About the winemaker
“The three of us have been working with the same Verdejo grape for over 50 years. By now, we have developed our own unique 'family recipe.' We deliberately do not opt for crisp wines for aperitifs. We have discovered that the Verdejo grape actually gains more character with longer aging. That is why we allow our wine to age on its lees before bottling. The result is surprising year after year.”

Rueda, Spain
The landscape in Castilla y León is not very exciting and is mainly characterized by rolling plateaus with plenty of grain and the occasional flock of sheep. The town of Rueda, on the other hand, is far from boring and is known for its fruity wines. The Verdejo grapes are harvested at night when the temperature has dropped to 10 to 15 degrees. Due to the lack of light, there is less risk of oxidation of the grape, ensuring that the freshness is well preserved. In addition to its freshness, the taste of Verdejo is characterized by the aroma of citrus and the taste of pears, with a slightly bitter undertone.
