About the winemaker

"After studying wine in Beaune in Burgundy, I returned to my native soil in 2005. I started making wine at a large cooperative but I started itching for something more. In 2012, we started our family project, la Graveirette. After three years of hard work, the biodynamic Demeter label was in our hands, so we do everything we can to get our wine into the bottle as responsibly as possible."

"Van een wijnmaker die ook zijn kunsten in Châteauneuf-du-Pape tentoonspreidt. Maak kennis met Julien Mus die met zijn 'kleintje rood' niet voor een kleintje vervaard blijkt (zie ook daar).  En ook zijn witte Vin de France kent zijn fans. Rijk, rijp en wulps. Kleine perzik, gedroogde abrikoos, rozemarijn, tijm en milde zuren. 
Jus de Vie. Oui, oui, oui! Helemaal als je  er bij wijze van exotisch uitstapje een romige korma met groenten bij serveert. Met name de gebruikte saffraan blijkt een verrukkelijke bruggenbouwer.  Misschien moet de gemeente Zoetermeer eens zo'n bordje eten voor ze besluiten hoe ze het instortingsgevaar kunnen voorkomen van hun Nelson Mandelabrug. Maar dit geheel terzijde. "

Domaine de la Graveirette is located in the southern Rhone region, between the cities of Orange and Avingon. Mont Ventoux (known to many cycling enthusiasts) lies to the east and Châteauneuf-du-Pape (known to many wine lovers) lies to the west. The soil of clay, sand and pebbles ensures that the heat is retained and the grapes can ripen perfectly. This "juice of life" (ju de vie in French) is meticulously blended with bourboulenc, clairette and roussane. After picking (early in the morning to protect them from the heat), the wine matures in concrete tanks to emphasize its freshness. This blend has distinctively rich aromas of peach, ripe pears and a sophisticated florality.
