La Vierge Nymphomane

Walker bay, South africa
Cabernet sauvignon, Malbec, Merlot
Why do Bordeaux grapes do so well in South Africa? Winemaker Christo knows for sure: The microclimate of the hemel-en-aarde Valley is similar to that of Bordeaux. Under these conditions, Christo's  wine emerges as a true 'nymphomaniac'; an aphrodisiac and  also particularly seductive.

About the winemaker

“Our modern winery is perched on top of a hill, and when you stand on the rooftop terrace, you'll be treated to breathtaking views of the lush vineyards. Perhaps even more intriguing, if you happen to visit the restroom, you may not have the best privacy, but you'll enjoy the most extraordinary view of all time! La Vierge translates to something like 'the virgin,' and all our wines revolve around 'desire.' That's why each of their cuvées has a special name; Jezebelle, Nymphomane...”

The Hemel-en-aarde Valley is part of the larger Walker Bay district and is part of the Cape South Coast region. It is a green region located right on the coast, right where the Atlantic and Indian oceans meet. It has an oceanic climate with cool influences from the ocean and constant soothing ocean breezes. The soil consists of clay and limestone, which holds water well - a blessing in increasingly arid South Africa. Winemaker Christo Kotze is lucky his winery is located in a very rainy stretch, just outside the valley. Here it rains more often, so unlike many of his colleagues, he has decided not to irrigate anymore.

Opnieuw besteld. Lekker!
