About the winemaker
“Bodegas Antonio Candela is a true family-run winery from the lesser-known appellation of Yecla, in the southeast of Spain. Our family’s winemaking history dates back to the nineteenth century, but the current estate was founded in 1925 by my great-grandfather, Antonio Candela García. What makes the winery so special is its deep connection to the Yecla region. Almost all of the vineyards lie within the boundaries of the appellation and have been managed by our family for generations. As a result, we own old vines that give the wines their characteristic concentration.”
