About the winemaker

"The Riesling grape originates from the village of Westhofen, a 10-minute drive from our winery in Pfeddersheim. The first mentions of the grape in this region date back to 1511. Because my Riesling vineyards are located on the birthplace of the variety, I also wanted to create an alcohol-free version of this grape. This way, you can always enjoy this special grape."

Rheinhessen, Germany
Rheinhessen is the largest wine region in Germany and is situated in a wide bend of the Rhine. It was here that Riesling was first mentioned in written records in 1511. More than 500 years later, this grape is still widely used. No longer just on the steep terraces along the Rhine, but primarily in the rolling hinterland of the region. The slightly more moderate climate here results in a riper style of Riesling, with plenty of fruit yet the fresh tension that makes the grape so beloved. Winemaker Max Pfannebecker therefore saw it as a great challenge to produce a good alcohol-free wine from this particular grape. The result is an alcohol-free Riesling in which citrus, freshness, and minerality come together beautifully.
