About the winemaker

"I help wineries in the Languedoc, such as Domaines Auriol, with the transition to organic viticulture. That is a very regular and an expensive investment. Not only do I look at alternatives to chemical pesticides, I also look at the perfect grape varieties that come into their own in the vineyards and can flourish in the new biodiversity, which winemaker Bertrand then turns into great wine!”

Pays d’oc, France
The southern French Pays d'Oc has recently emerged as one of the most interesting wine regions in France. In the last century, this region was known as the origin of cheaply produced bulk wines that you can still often find on the bottom shelves of the supermarket. That reputation has now been turned 180 degrees by many small family businesses. In the Pays d'Oc you will find many different microclimates and subsoils, which offer winegrowers a lot of potential to make great wine. Where many French wine regions are bound by strict rules and tradition, here the world lays at your feet.
