About the winemaker

"My family roots go back to the 15th century. That's how we were able to pinpoint exactly when the first wines were produced at Domaine de la Solitude. They were already in the 17th century. So my ancestors were already around when the famous Châteauneuf-du-Pape region was founded. It's strange to think that so many centuries later, I'm still making wine in the same place."

92/100 James Suckling
“A rich and juicy blend of grenache, syrah and mourvedre with aromas of strawberry jam, crushed raspberries and sweet spices, following through to a medium body with creamy tannins. Generous fruit character to the dense and vivid finis.”

Rhone, France
The Côtes du Rhône stretches 80 kilometers from Vienne in the north to Avignon in the south. Following the winding river with its beautiful banks, you'll pass 171 different terroirs. It's one of France's oldest wine regions: grapes were already being grown here in Roman times. For centuries, the river was the lifeblood of the region, both literally and figuratively. It not only provided a water supply but also served as a vital trade route, spreading wine and culture throughout Europe. The vast majority of wines come from the southern part of the Rhône, where the sun shines strongly and the famous mistral wind cools the grapes, keeping them healthy. The stony and sandy soils produce wines with warmth and freshness. During the day, they offer protection from the intense sun, while at night they retain heat. This allows the grapes to ripen evenly, resulting in many wines from this region excelling in their concentration and fruit.
