About the winemaker

"Years ago, I was co-owner of a successful wine distributor. However, in 2013, my wife and I decided to make our dream come true. and we took over a small vineyard. When we came across a domain with ancient, ungrafted Garnacha and Albillo Real vines and a granite and slate soil, we instantly fell in love. Here we work completely biodynamically, use no pesticide, only natural yeasts and harvest according to the lunar calendar."

90/100 Parker voor de 2018 & 2019 vintage
"It has a Mediterranean nose with aromatic herbs and straw notes, and the palate volume and texture, with moderate acidity. The grape is not easy, and it's a bit mysterious. Only 10,000 bottles produced."

Cebreros, Spain
Although the small village of Cebreros only managed to secure its own DOP in 2019, it is rapidly gaining popularity among wine lovers. The small area encircles just two valleys situated around one mountain range, west of Madrid. The vineyards all lie between about 700-1100 metres altitude. The soils here consist of granite and slate. These are poor soils, so the vines have to work hard. To find enough nutrition, the vines root deeply. This is also the reason why many really old vines can be found here, mostly from before the great phylloxera pandemic, all from the red Garnacha and Albillo Real grapes. All this makes for quantitatively low yields, but with a lot of concentration. In recent years, a number of dynamic winemakers have descended on the region, giving it a huge boost.

Aanrader!
