About the winemaker

"Our winery has been in the family for seven generations. I took over the management from my father Theo. Like my grandmother and mother, I also married a winemaker. So plenty of expertise in the family! We believe that the best wine is made when you give enough attention and care to the grapes. That's why we work biodynamically. Also, our wine gets all the time it needs to mature for as long as it needs. Our goal is to make vibrant wines in which you can taste our care and the terroir of our family's much-loved Palatinate."

Pfalz, Germany
The Palatinate is known for its rolling landscape and mild climate. This is why the area is also described as 'German Tuscany'. These characteristics combined with soils of different rock types like sand and limestone make the region one of the most interesting and important wine regions in Germany. The most widely planted grape in the Palatinate is the Riesling. This "king of grapes" reflects the terroir of the region in which it grows like no other. In this case, it is in the Minges family's best and most popular vineyard: the Gleiwsweiler Hölle. Grosses Gewächs is therefore equivalent to Grand Cru. The condition of the soil here is optimal: it is a combination of loamy sand, sand and limestone and ensures that the wine has complexity, structure, minerality and storage potential.

Helder geel. Geur van perzik en gras, bloemig? Licht tintelend, petrol, perzik, en ook gras. Behoorlijk lange afdronk, terugkerende zuurtjes / limoen schil. Volle vette wijn. Het is toch echt een Riesling.
