About the winemaker
The climate here in Baja Montaña is cooler and more influenced by the proximity of the mountains than in many other parts of Navarra. As a result, the fruit ripens slowly here, which results in wines with tension and freshness.

Navarra, Spain
Navarra is arguably one of the most interesting wine regions in Spain. While it was once known for its dark rosé, hard work is currently being done to change this reputation. The first records of viticulture in the region date back to the time of the ancient Romans, but wine has likely been cultivated here for much longer. Vines of the prehistoric species Vitis sylvestris, a precursor to the modern wine grape, Vitis vinifera, have recently been discovered in Navarra. After the Romans, viticulture continued under the Moors, and was subsequently greatly expanded under Christian rule. The demand for wine was boosted by Catholics making the pilgrimage along the Camino de Santiago to the sanctuary.
