Leopoldo Morara
Winemaker Leopoldo produces Chianti in one of the most expressive sub-zones of the Chianti region: the DOCG Montalbano. Experience the dark red fruit of Sangiovese and the texture from aging in French and Slovenian oak. This is Chianti at its finest!
Winemaker's words:
“Our winery is located in a beautiful villa from the bygone Italian Renaissance. The underlying cellar dates back to 1700. At that time, it was one of the most modern wine cellars in Italy, featuring storage tanks for flowing water and a heating system that could control the temperature in the wine cellar. These old, once-innovative techniques have been replaced over time with modern equipment. However, I do not shy away from manual labor. I hand-harvest and also manually select the grapes for ripeness.”
