About the winemaker

“Fortunately, there are more and more winemakers who believe that things should be different in Bordeaux. That's why we've founded the Union of Bordeaux Pirate Winegrowers. By working together, we hope that our sometimes unconventional creations will get a platform and conquer the wine world.”

Jean-baptiste duquesne

91/100 Revue de Vin de France
Een heldere, frisse en kruidige wijn. In de aanzet gul maar verfijnd, waardoor het een zeer verteerbare wijn is. Met een bite in de afdronk die een fijn spanningsveld geeft.

Graves, France
To the south of Bordeaux, on the left bank of the Garonne, lies Graves. Wine enthusiasts simply refer to it as "the left bank." Graves derives its name from the soil composition. The gravel and gravel-rich soil is derived from "graveleux." For red wine, Graves uses the same grape varieties found in the Medoc: cabernet sauvignon and merlot. Winemaker Jean-Baptiste founded the Bordeaux Pirate Growers here. It's an alliance of winemakers who believe things should be different. The region has been struggling with an image problem for years - often perceived as too old-fashioned and too heavy. Together, they aim to create wines that excel in freshness and drinkability.
