About the winemaker
"In 1987, six farming families decided to join forces so that we could continue making wine from grapes from our own vineyards. Our plots are still scattered across Alfaro, from the Ebro Valley to the slopes of Monte Yerga. Each plot gives our Tempranillo its own character. By bringing together all these different expressions, we create the Rioja that we believe best showcases what our region is capable of."

Rioja, Spain
In the east of Rioja, around the town of Alfaro, the vineyards gradually rise from the Ebro Valley to the slopes of Monte Yerga. This combination of altitude differences, sunshine hours, and soils results in wines with both concentration and freshness. The lower-lying vineyards benefit from warm conditions that ensure ripe fruit and a full structure. Higher up on Monte Yerga, where the nights are cooler and the soils become stonier, the grapes develop more finesse and aromatic complexity. Garnacha, in particular, feels perfectly at home here, producing wines with notes of red fruit, spices, and striking elegance. It is precisely the combination of the fertile Ebro Valley and the higher-lying plots of Monte Yerga that makes Alfaro one of the most interesting appellations within Rioja.
