Jessiaume Bourgogne Rouge Les Perrieres

Les Perrières vineyard, one of the highest in Beaune, is winemaker William’s favorite! It’s precisely this elevation that gives his Burgundy its characteristic tension. Bursting with aromas of roses, cherries, rosehip, vanilla, and pepper, it is his ultimate Burgundy.

About the winemaker

“At Domaine Jessiaume, we craft a modern Burgundy. We're fully organic, all vineyard work is done manually, we use only our own yeasts, and we only add sulfites before bottling. We're also very careful with our oak barrels; the wood used must be subtle. This makes our wines vibrant, layered, and exciting.”

Burgundy is one of the most renowned wine regions in the world. Winemaking in Burgundy has a rich history and a strong focus on terroir, meaning that the specific characteristics of the soil, climate, and vineyard location have a major impact on the wines produced. Les Perrières is a vineyard in the village of Chassey-Le-Camp, on the edge of Santenay. The plot is situated on a hill with a northeast-facing slope, giving the wines freshness and energy. The lower part is planted with Pinot Noir, while the upper section, which has more limestone, is planted with Chardonnay.
