About the winemaker
“Domaine Giroux has been in our family for almost three centuries. In 2009 I succeeded my father and took over the management of our domain. Since then I have made a number of changes: we now work completely organically and with as few additives as possible to the wine. Harvesting is also done by hand. The past few years have taught me one important thing; respect for the environment and manual farming guarantee balanced wines.”

Macon-Fuissé is a tiny appellation located in the Mâconnais, in the southern part of Burgundy and is only 48 hectares in size. This part of Burgundy has a warmer climate than the rest of the region, which helps ensure that the wines are rich and complex in taste. In addition, this region is also known as the area with the best price/quality in all of Burgundy. The vineyards of Macon-Fuissé are located on limestone hills, which gives the wines freshness. The limestone soils are very similar to those of the Chablis. Because they are further south, the climate is much warmer. While Chablis tends to have a high acidity in the cold climate, the wines here are fruity and richer.
