João Pires

João Pires was born and raised in the Port region. Together with his right-hand man Matt, he produces the most impressive Port wines in unique bottles. In addition, they also make a surprising red wine.

Winemaker's words:

“Matt worked as a winemaker in the Australian Barossa Valley and decided to go to Portugal in search of a new wine adventure. I was born and raised in the Portuguese Douro region and worked at various port wine houses. We met in 2007, and in 2009, we founded Quinta de Pedra in the heart of the Douro Valley. This allowed us to fulfill our dream of making wine with friends in one of the best wine spots in Europe.”
