About the winemaker
What better way to start this box than with a French classic? Winemaker Lou creates a classic oak-aged Bordeaux with beautiful fruit and soft tannins. Of course, the box also features perhaps the most popular red grape of the moment: Primitivo. This full-bodied red wine from the hot region of Puglia in Italy bursts with seductive dark fruit, such as cherries and blackberries. For the next wine, winemaker Dani puts his own spin on the famous Bordeaux blend, adding Blaufränkisch to Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. We then travel to Spain, where winemaker Pascual produces an oak-aged, deeply concentrated wine with intense aromas of dark fruit and spices. In the Douro, winemakers Matt and João also know how to turn traditional Port grapes into a fantastic red wine. This surprising, full-bodied wine bursts with the characteristic juicy fruit of Port and fresh acidity. We finish with the Solitude Côtes du Rhône Réserve: a wonderfully seductive wine full of pure forest fruit.
